AAUA PROTEST

LAW STUDENTS RESPONDS TO CALL OF PROTEST.
Today, Monday, April 9 2018, was an unusual one at Akure Ondo state , Ekiti, Akungba and Lagos state following the nation wide protest against the unreasonable tuition hike in Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko.
There was a no automobile movement in Akure, Oba Adesida road which was the centre stage for the protest which kicked off as early as 6am.
The protest witnessed mass turn out of AAuaites, Nans and Naos members including LSSites and other.

Law students were seen around taking charge of blockades and ensuring peace as the protest last.

The protest which till the end was peaceful, save for the hullabaloo caused by the Nigeria Police by firing teargas cannons at harmless Nigerian Students and also Market women.

At Mid-day the protest was extended to the Governor's Office by students who re_converged en masse. The walk to the Governor's office was led by the police who at this time was weary at attacking the students.

The protest lasted in the rain...and students did not compromise as they danced and sang aluta anthems.
At the end the deputy Governor addressed the students..and the student leaders were allowed to air the students' grievances.
On the part of AAUA ..Optimum,SU president condemned the 500℅ hike and called for a formal pending of the resumption till consensus was met. And that 30℅ increase is the only tolerated increase if necessary.. Also that an ultimatum of 3 days is given for a favourable resolution.

The Deputy Governor promised to meet with the SU and get back to the students tomorrow.

😁😁
All glory to God almighty for the success of the first day aluta.
No casualties and those arrested were released.
